Vernon Parish Chamber Orchestra 2023-2024 Season
The first rehearsal of the new season will be Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at Leesville High School band room at 6pm. All music lovers are encouraged to attend and join as the orchestra needs musicians in all sections: strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion. Selections for the next concert will be distributed via email to current members soon to determine which pieces to perform. Possible selections include Amadeus, Fiddler on the Roof, The Sound of Music, Jupiter, Ode to Joy and others along with Christmas selections including How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Rudolph, Santa at the Symphony, and others.
Each musician needs to be able to read music and own their instrument. Music stands are provided. Several of Newton’s musicians are active members of the area-wide orchestra. Texas players carpool from the area to Leesville and some transportation is available. Members range from school age to 80+ years old and are encouraged to attend, participate, and join the orchestra. The orchestra performs throughout the area at local churches and auditoriums. If you want to grow your musical skills, engage in bringing beautiful performances to the area and practice with like-minded talented people, please attend the first rehearsal of the 2024 season.
