Afternoon all. We have some upcoming weather hazards to talk about:
Small Craft Advisory:
20-60 nm zones: Midnight Sunday through 6 PM Monday
0-20 nm zones: Noon Sunday through 6 PM Monday
Lakes and Bays: 6 AM-6 PM Monday
Southeast winds 20 to 25 knots with Gusts to 30 knots. Seas 6 to 10 feet.Conditions will be hazardous to small craft.
Coastal Flood Advisory:
Now through 6 AM CST Sunday
Coastal Jefferson County
Tides levels are forecasted to peak between 1.5 to 2.0 feet MHHW around time of high tide this evening and overnight.
Excessive Rainfall Outlook - Tuesday
Numerous showers and thunderstorms expected to develop associated with an approaching cold front. Very heavy downpours will be possible across Southeast Texas, Central and Southwest Louisiana, resulting in a potential for flooding of urban and poor drainage areas.
In addition, watching the tropics:
No immediate impacts for Southern Louisiana or Southeast Texas. Depending on development and eventual track, higher winds and seas will be possible late next week across the coastal waters.
A broad area of low pressure over the southwestern Caribbean Sea continues to produce disorganized showers and thunderstorms. Gradual development of this system is expected, and a tropical depression is likely to form within the next couple of days while it moves generally northward to northwestward over the central and western Caribbean Sea. Regardless of development, locally heavy rains are possible over portions of the adjacent land areas of the western Caribbean, including Jamaica, Hispaniola, and Cuba. Interests in the western Caribbean Sea should monitor the progress of this system. An Air Force Hurricane Hunter aircraft is scheduled to investigate this system on Sunday.
