Lydia Damrel Speaks at NCRC's August meeting

NCRC met Aug. 18 in the Newton Civic Center. President Pam Wright announced Aug 23 is the Republican Presidential Candidate Debate.  Wright asked members to consider becoming Deputy Voter Registrars. County Chairman Paul Price spoke about Texas’ need for having a real Republican conservative as the Speaker of the House. VP David Kelley reported on the Newton County Commissioners Court and Terri Woods gave the update on the Newton City Council. Lydia Damrel was the guest speaker. She spoke about the grassroots importance of voters attending their precinct and county conventions. The next NCRC meeting is September 15 at noon in the Civic Center. Mr. Jay Sharp, editor of the digital Newton County Daily News, will be the speaker. All of NCRCs monthly meetings are open to the public.
