In a playoff rematch against Bowie, the Deweyville Pirates won on Friday night with a dominant 28-8 victory.
At halftime, Bowie held a narrow 8-6 lead over the Pirates. Despite the uncertain start, Deweyville staged a remarkable comeback in the second half, dominating the game and scoring 22 unanswered points to close out the win.
This win adds to Deweyville's impressive performance sealing the first ever 10-win season and the first time making it to the 3rd round of playoffs in school history.
Looking ahead, Deweyville faces tough challenge on the road this Friday as they take on #2 Mart Panthers. Deweyville's rushing game at 325 YPG and a strong defense to stop the pass will be keys for taking on the Mart Panthers with 276 YPG Rushing and 120 YPG Passing.
The Pirates are now focused and poised to extend their playoff journey to again make history in Deweyville.
