One woman dead, a second with life-threatening injuries following side-by-side wreck

The Texas Department of Public Safety investigated a fatal crash on County Road 2168, north of Quail Drive, in South Toledo Bend that occurred Monday, October 14.

DPS Media Sergeant Shana Clark said, "The preliminary crash investigation indicates that at approximately 8:28 p.m., a 2021 Can-Am utility vehicle (UTV) was traveling south, reportedly at a speed which was unsafe on a gravel road and around a curve. The UTV left the roadway, struck a tree, and ejected both the driver and passenger".

The driver, identified as 30-year-old Raine Mills of Conroe, was pronounced deceased on scene by a Justice of the Peace. Her passenger, 57-year-old Pamela Baker, was transported to LSU Health Hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
