Wanda Kay Barber, 75, of Bleakwood, Texas, passed from this life on Tuesday, February 4, 2025.
Wanda was born in Houston and grew up in Bleakwood, the daughter of the late Wayne Marshall and Louise Marshall Jernigan. She graduated from Newton High School in 1968 and from Tyler Business School in 1970. She moved to San Antonio, Texas in 1990 and began working at Randolph Air Force Base as a civil service employee and worked there for over 25 years. She was an avid Square Dancer and attended numerous events and competitions. She loved to travel and play Scrabble. In 2015 she moved back to Bleakwood where she was a faithful member of the Kirbyville Church of Christ.
She is survived by her granddaughters, Sydney LeAnn Weikle of Beaumont and BriAnna Kay Toland of San Antonio; her great granddaughter, Aurora LeAnn Kelly, and her mother, Louise Jernigan of Kirbyville. She is also survived by three sisters, Donna Adams and husband Joe of Katy; Janet Pitts and husband Rick from Richardson; Lisa Brown and husband Thomas from Kirbyville; one brother, Stan Marshall from Kirbyville; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Wanda was preceded in death by her father, Wayne Marshall and her daughter Jennifer LeAnn Weikle.
