Calls To Service (June 24, 2024, to June 30, 2024): The Newton County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) answered 70 calls to service.
Jail Transports: NCSO had 1 jail transport;
1 from NCSO to Mental Health Facility.
Jail Population: We currently have 17 inmates in the following jails;
5 housed in Newton, 8 housed in Beauregard, and 4 housed in Jasper.
The following individuals were booked into the Newton County Jail:

Newton (Unincorporated Limits): Officer Assist, Terroristic Threat, Reckless Driving, Hit and Run Accident, Welfare Concern, Traffic Complaint on Hwy 190 Westbound near CR 3005- Parking in the “NO PARKING” Zone- owners were instructed to remove their vehicles or face having them towed away at their expense.
