 On Tuesday of last week, we arrested a wanted subject in the school zone in Deweyville who had warrants out of Orange County.  After speaking with him, deputies were able to clear up a couple of cases they have been working and then turned him over to Orange County. 

Last Wednesday, I attended the Burkeville High School’s Career Day.  It was great seeing so many young men and women interested in law enforcement and joining the workforce to be productive members of society.

Another search warrant was executed in the City of Newton on Wednesday.  Officers recovered a large amount of suspected Methamphetamine and firearms.  We will continue to work with our Federal, State and Local partners to curtail the drugs in our communities. 

We answered 57 calls for service last week and booked 12 individuals into the Newton County Jail.  Our inmate count is 26 this morning with inmates housed in the following jails: 7 in Jasper, 6 in Beauregard Parish and 13 in Newton.
