We are continuing to diligently patrol areas of known criminal activity and combat the war on drugs in our county. We have made several arrests, and more are expected to come.

This morning, we assisted the Newton Police Department with a shooting off West College Street. If anyone has any information regarding this incident, I urge you to contact the Newton Police Department at (409)379-5061. Prayers to all involved.

We have arrested a gentleman twice this week and shortly after getting out of jail today, he was caught in a vehicle that did not belong to him. After running from Sergeant Cagle, he was placed under arrest and brought back to the Newton County Jail. Not very smart, AGAIN! Good job, Sergeant Cagle.

  We have answered 82 calls for service and have 23 inmates in the following jails: 15 in Newton County, 5 in Jasper County and 3 in Beauregard Parish.
