Calls To Service (July 15, 2024, to July 21, 2024): The Newton County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) answered 59 calls to service.
Jail Population: We currently have 18 inmates in the following jails;
7 housed in Newton, 7 housed in Beauregard, and 4 housed in Jasper.
Jail Transports: NCSO had 9 jail transports:
1 from NCSO to Conroe for Mental Health, 3 from Beauregard to NCSO, 1 from JCSO to NCSO, 1 from Gist Unit to NCSO, 1 from Hardin County to NCSO, 1 from NCSO to Gist Unit, 1 from NCSO to Hardin County.

Deweyville: Trespassing, Animal Nuisance, Reckless Driving, Medical Call, Welfare Concern, Accident, Suspicious Activity x 2, Extra Patrol
Newton (Unincorporated Limits): Officer Assist x 4, Trespassing, Criminal Mischief, Follow Up, Threat, Animal Nuisance, Falsified Drug Test, Alarm, Assault, Suspicious Activity, Theft/Burglary from a residence (Tractor, Side-by-Side, RV, Lowboy Trailer, food items, curtains, misc.).
