At 8:00 a.m. on April 15, 2024, Newton County Emergency Operations Center held a meeting in Deweyville. These meetings will be held daily until further notice. The Newton County EOC is being manned from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily at the City Hall in Newton.

TOLDEO BEND DAM REPORT AS OF 4/15/24: 11 GATES OPEN AT 3 FEET -RELEASING 33,000 CFS AND GENERATORS RELEASING 13,233 CFS.

Calls To Service (April 8, 2024, to April 14, 2024): The Newton County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) answered 79 calls to service.


Jail Transports: NCSO had 7 jail transports;

4 from NCSO to JCSO, 1 from NCSO to Dr. Appointment, 1 from NCSO to mental health facility, 1 from Beauregard to NCSO.


Jail Population: We currently have 26 inmates in the following jails;

10 housed in Newton, 6 housed in Beauregard, and 9 housed in Jasper, 1 at mental facility on furlough.
