Begining next month, we will begin taking the important steps forward for the well-being and safety of Newton County citizens by holding public hearings regarding the creation of Emergency Services District No. 6, a project that we hope will bring immense benefits to our community by providing much-needed ambulance services throughout our county.
As many of you know, access to reliable emergency medical services is not just a convenience; it is a critical need. In moments of crisis, when every second counts, the presence of a well-equipped and responsive ambulance service can mean the difference between life and death. Unfortunately, our current resources are stretched thin, and too many of our residents find themselves waiting too long in times of emergency. This is unacceptable, and it’s something we have the power to change.
The establishment of Emergency Services District No. 6 is our opportunity to ensure that every resident of Newton County has timely access to emergency medical care. This district will be specifically focused on creating and maintaining a robust ambulance service that can respond quickly and effectively to any emergency, no matter where it occurs within our county.
The upcoming public hearings will provide all of you with a platform to voice your opinions, ask questions, and learn more about how this district will be structured and funded. Your input is invaluable as we move forward, and I encourage everyone to participate in these discussions.
By creating this district, we are not only investing in our health and safety but also reinforcing the strength and resilience of our community. We are coming together to ensure that help is always available when we need it most.
