Over 30 local business owners, manager and citizens attended the first gathering of the latest iteration of a Chamber of Commerce Tuesday night.
One of the event organizers, Raquel Foster said, "In our first chamber meeting, ambition for progress filled the room. Local business owners, each a pillar of our community, gathered with a shared vision: to rejuvenate our Chamber of Commerce into a bastion of support for local enterprises." Foster went on to say, "Their commitment to mutual support is the cornerstone of our journey ahead, as we aim to grow Newton County, one business at a time. Together, we look forward to shaping a prosperous future for our community."
Frida Dillenbeck stated that it was "a great turn out at the Newton County Chamber of Commerce kickoff meeting...with initiatives starting next week to create a Newton County business guide, interviews with business owners for online media promotions and so much more!"
The group is planning another gathering in January to elect board members and solidify the organization as a non-profit. The Newton County Chamber of Commerce wants to create a collaborative effort in order to help current business owners as well as those to come.
