On Wednesday, October 9, 2024, the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to Eastex Federal Credit Union on FM 105 in Evadale, Texas in reference to a theft.
Upon arrival, it was found that the ATM had been damaged and surveillance footage showed that at approximately 3:00 AM this morning, two suspects driving a white KHGY 88.5 FM white van stolen out of Silsbee, Texas arrived at the ATM. The suspects, dressed in all black with gloves and masks used a large crowbar to pry into the ATM causing severe damage and rendering the ATM out of service. After several unsuccessful attempts to access the stored funds, the suspects left travelling towards Vidor in the stolen van.
