Newton County Sheriff's Office welcomes new officer to the force that was a stand out among all other dogs during training school "Jack."
"Jack" is a 3 year old Belgium Malinois from the Netherlands. Sheriff Robert Burby said, "Because of the changes in the drugs that we are encountering, we had to have a dog that is trained to fight the drugs in our county."
"Jack" is the first Fentanyl trained police dog. Burby went on to say, "This will add a much different dynamic to our drug interdiction process."
Officer Nash stated that running from "Jack" would not be smart because of his speed, size and specialized training.
