Just wanted to send an update out that I have received about the Fire across the State Line.
As of 7:56am
The fire remains completely uncontained at this hour. The reports we are getting indicate that the fire has been progressing north early this morning. Additional resources have been allocated through Louisiana Mutual Aid. A mandatory evacuation order has been issued for Neale Oil Field Road outside of Merryville and a voluntary evacuation for the town of Merryville.
As of 12:27am
Very little of the fire has been contained at this time which covers about 300 acres, but it is presently limited to uninhabited areas between Merryville and Singer in west central Beauregard parish. As such, firefighting activities have been suspended for the night and will resume in the morning. Per radar and satellite estimates, the fire is presently approximately 8 miles east of the state line. Winds are currently forecast to be out of the Northwest through the morning before turning southwesterly during the afternoon and evening. As such, a rapid movement of the fire to the west approaching the state line appears unlikely, but I'd recommend continuing to follow the progress of the fire through the day.
