The undefeated (4-0) Newton Eagles host the Hemphill Hornets (4-2) at Singletary Stadium Friday night. Hemphill has a 2-0 District record with wins over Trinity and Kountze. The Eagles 2-0 in District with wins over Warren and Anderson/Shiro. Hemphill has targeted Newton over the past few years as their rival to topple from power but the Eagles have met the challenge head on. This season it appears to once again be a game of high expectations from both sides. It will be a 7:00 pm kickoff on Barbay Field with the Hornets and Newton Nation can witness the Eagles continue their growth as a team. Wear your Purple! Purple Pride Never Dies!!
