On Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 4:36 pm, NCSO Dispatchers received a call of a missing person/possible drowning at the 100 Block of E. Ridgecrest, Toledo Bend Reservoir. The caller said the victim, identified as Noah Roden- 23 years of age, was at this location with a group from Lamar University attending a ministries camp at that location.
The caller reported that Roden was last seen near the dock swimming towards a floating platform. The caller further advised that they lost sight of him and contacted the Sheriff’s Office and reported Roden missing.
First responders were dispatched to the scene and began a search for Roden where he was last seen by his friends. Fish and Game, Toledo Bend VFD, and residents with boats participated in the search until about 9:00 pm when the search was called off due to darkness.
On Sunday, August 11, 2024, at approximately 8:00 am, the search resumed. At about 9:25 am, Roden was located and recovered by Fish and Game, and Bon Wier VFD personnel.
We want to extend our appreciation to the first responders and residents of Toledo Bend who participated in the search efforts. We also would like to extend our sincere condolences to Roden’s family and friends.
