The Southeast Texas Food Bank is sponsoring Hunger Action Month in September for our area. The SETXFB is our main partner agency, and they supply Newton Food Share (and other pantries like Burkeville Food Share) with thousands of pounds of groceries.
I am requesting that a local organization (or several) sponsor a food drive for the Newton Food Share. You collect the food, and we will pick it up and distribute it at our location, 509 Main Street, We would be glad to get any non-perishable food; canned foods, oatmeal, pasta, crackers, snack foods, rice, bagged beans, etc.
