The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a two-vehicle crash on state Highway 87, north of Deweyville, that occurred on Thursday.
According to DPS Media Sergeant Shana Clark, "The preliminary crash investigation indicates that at approximately 4:42 a.m., a 2014 Chevrolet Camaro was traveling north, while a 2005 Peterbilt truck tractor semi-trailer was traveling south. It is reported that the driver of the Chevrolet traveled into the oncoming lane and struck the truck tractor".
The driver of the Chevrolet, identified as 45-year-old Derrick Holman of Orange, was transported to Christus Southeast Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the truck tractor, identified as 47-year-old Mathew Smalls of Deridder, La., was not injured.
