Slightly above normal temperatures and below normal rainfall expected across SE Texas during the next 7 days.
High pressure, over North Texas, is in the process of moving to our northeast which will inducing a southeast flow in the middle layers of the atmosphere. This will moisten this layer providing a more favorable environment for widely-scattered showers and thunderstorms each day during the next seven. Otherwise, highs will remain in the middle 90s with lows in the middle to upper 70s. Little change each day is expected through the upcoming work week.
In the Tropics, Invest 98L which is about 950 mile east of the Lesser Antilles, continues to become better organized and will likely become a depression in the next day or two. It will eventually become Ernesto. The storm is forecast to continue moving west-northwest and could be near Puerto Rico by mid-week. A trough of low pressure moving off the East Coast will likely turn the storm north late this week. Regardless, high pressure will be over Texas.
Monday's SE Texas Outdoor Forecast features hot, humid weather conditions with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms.
Early next week, the high will move to our northeast. This will induce a southeast flow in the middle and upper-levels. The middle levels will moisten which will provide a more favorable environment for showers and thunderstorms.
Upper level high pressure persists over New Mexico ridging into East Texas. This has resulted in the hot, dry conditions of late.
